Digital Asset Sales Trader

Job Mission

The goal of a Delchain Execution & Sales Trader on the desk is to provide orderly execution of client’s orders and settlement requests as well as proactively manage client accounts. This includes providing quotes for clients for their trades, providing updates to customers on their pending executions and fills, and providing confirmations of settlements to clients as needed. The role also requires assistance in maintaining a ledger of all trades and settlements on behalf of a client and ensure that trade execution and settlement destination and amount details are correct. Lastly, this hybrid trader role represents a direct line of communication between Delchain and its end customers and as such should be addressing client concerns, fielding client inquiries/requests, and aiding clients with regards to the Delchain platform and the services offered here.

Responsibilities

  • Execute trades on behalf of clients and field incoming trade or quote requests
  • Maintain a daily record of all trades and current settlement status
  • Generate client trade reports when requested
  • Trade on a proprietary basis on behalf of the firm, when required
  • Manage client expectations and relationships on a day-to-day basis
  • Proactively look for opportunities to source new clients to the trading or custodial desk
  • Instruct Deltec Bank Client Services team to initiate transfers related to trading activity
  • Adhere to strong settlement control standards when receiving/sending fiat & crypto from one of our associated counterparties
  • Conduct KYT checks on all transactions using 3rd party software
  • Conduct FX transactions with Deltec bank / other 3rd parties when required to hedge FX risk
  • Provide support to other teams within Delchain / Deltec bank when required
  • Provide Weekly & Monthly reports on Delchain trading activity, PnL, and Asset balances

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics or related field
  • Strong communication skills and experience working with external clients
  • Previous experience in a sales trader role within the financial industry (traditional or digital assets) welcomed
  • Sound computing skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of blockchain technology / cryptocurrency transactions a plus
  • Any digital asset or tradfi trading experience (professional or personal) a plus
  • Familiarity with a blockchain KYC platform (Merkle Science, Ellipsis, Chainalysis etc) a plus
  • Strong mathematics / accounting skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured settlement procedures
